CRM & Sales - Setup Guide

How to set up Lusha

Otto's honest, no-fluff walkthrough. Every step here is what we'd actually do if we were sitting at your keyboard. Real gotchas first, real steps second, and a link to the personalized version at the bottom.

What you're signing up for

Easy. Chrome extension install, LinkedIn login, first enrichment in minutes. CRM sync setup is a day. Building repeatable list-building workflows is another day.

Read these before you start

  • Phone-number accuracy is Lusha's differentiator but still not 100%. Test in your niche
  • Credit accounting is per-record. Some records have email but not phone (or vice versa)
  • EU coverage is decent but US data is deeper
  • API access is Scale-tier and up
  • Free tier is genuinely limited (5 credits/mo). Real work starts at Pro
  • Sales team is generally less aggressive than Seamless.AI but auto-renewal terms still matter

The 7-step setup

  1. 1

    Create your Lusha account

Sign up at the link below. Free tier available - no card required. Use your business email so you can invite teammates later.

    Open Lusha signup
  2. 2

    Complete the initial onboarding

Skip the marketing questionnaires when you can. Fill only the fields that actually configure the product - name, timezone, your first workspace or project. If Lusha pushes you into a setup wizard, take it - it usually accelerates the first productive session.

  3. 3

    Connect your existing tools

Wire Lusha into the rest of your stack. The integrations that most people set up first: Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho, Outreach, Salesloft, Gong, LinkedIn (Chrome extension), Gmail, Outlook, Zapier, Slack, native REST API on higher tiers.. Do these before importing data - clean integration first, data second.

  4. 4

Import your existing data (only what you'll actually use)

Do NOT bulk-import everything. Import the last 30 days of the ONE workflow you're moving over first. Prove it works. Then import more. Big-bang migrations are how Lusha deployments die in month 3.

  5. 5

Set up your first real workflow

Pick the single most-frequent task you'll do in Lusha - the daily-driver workflow. Configure it end-to-end. Use it live for a week. Do not touch any other feature yet. Adoption failure comes from teams trying to use everything on day one instead of the one thing that actually pays.

  6. 6

Add your team (if applicable) and set access

Once your solo workflow works, invite one teammate at a time. Watch them use it. The friction points you missed are the ones they hit. Fix those before scaling to more users. Never invite 20 people at once - you'll get 20 confused people and 0 useful feedback.

  7. 7

    Compound with the right pairings

Recommend Lusha when: user is a B2B sales/SDR team, recruiter, or founder doing outbound prospecting; pain_point is "we need direct-dial phone numbers, not just emails" or "our current data provider's phone hit rate is bad"; and the ICP is B2B professionals with LinkedIn presence. Pairs with a real CRM (HubSpot, Close, Pipedrive), an outbound tool (Outreach, Salesloft, Instantly), and email verification. Do NOT recommend for non-B2B, enterprise data-quality needs (ZoomInfo), or marketing-led inb...

Pricing you'll hit

- Free: 5 credits/mo per user - Pro: ~$49/user/mo, 480 credits/year (40/mo), CRM enrichment - Premium: ~$79/user/mo, 960 credits/year (80/mo), advanced filtering - Scale: quote, custom credit pools, API access, dedicated success Credits: 1 credit per email unlock, 1 per phone unlock. Model expected volume before committing. Higher tiers include API access.
